Biochemistry and Origin of Life Apologetics, Part 2
by Steve Lem
The development of the first living cell from a naturally occurring environment of nonliving chemicals, minerals, rock, water and air is a critical issue in science. This presumed process is named abiogenesis. Abiogenesis must have happen by natural processes or it must have happened supernaturally by the hand of God beyond nature. There are no other choices. So, the issue is on of the most important in secular science that presumes there is no God.
From the1950s experiments until the present textbooks have commonly presented abiogenesis experiments as close to proving that the first life arising from nonliving chemicals in the natural environment as a near certain thing essentially without question.
Steve Lem will make a strong case that very nearly the opposite is true. In fact there are so many serious obstacles to the natural origin of the first life is almost certainly impossible without the involvement of a supernatural designer.
