The Pharaoh of the Exodus

 

Archaeologist Dr. Petrovich has made a strong systematic case that Joseph, Jacob, Manasseh, and Ephraim are clearly present in the inscriptions of Egyptian archaeology. These inscriptions fit into the events portrayed in the Bible and add new detail and clarity that is quite impressive. Most important is the fact that Ephraim and Manasseh, largely raised in by an Egyptian mother in the top vizier’s household, no doubt learned to read and write as well as talk in Egyptian but could only talk their forefather’s language, Hebrew, since there was no written Hebrew at that time. They saw the great utility and power of a written language although hieroglyphics was rather clumsy with more than 800 symbols for different words. So, Manasseh and Ephraim developed a written form of Hebrew using an alphabet making it far more efficient than Hieroglyphics. All of that happened  in the 12^th Dynasty of Egypt.

Archaeologist have known for 150 years this language exists but it remained undecipherable. Now Dr. Petrovich has shown how to read it and it yields a wealth of new systematically consistent evidence.

Joseph died in 1805 BC, near the end of the 12^th Dynasty. In the next tree Dynasties Egypt fell into the chaos generated by major migrations from the East and later Hyksos invasions. A new era of Egyptian control was established in 1575 by a new dynasty of Pharaohs.  One Hebrew inscription says the new Pharaoh did not know Joseph and another says the Pharaoh sought to cut away to barrenness the Hebrew’s great number.

Many still ask when the plagues and the Exodus occurred and just who the Pharaoh was on who’s watch those events occurred. Such evidence should be clear in the inscriptions. But there is the problem for most archaeologists, they have not found such evidence in the thoroughly documented inscriptions and the common conclusion is that this part of the bible is largely mythology.

On March 5^th the GHCA will present Dr. Petrovich’s paper Amenhotep II and the Historicity of the Exodus-Pharaoh. In this 30 page paper Petrovich presents six important criteria from the Bible that must be satisfied simultaneously by the Exodus Pharaoh and indeed Amenhotep II satisfies all. This work makes the historicity of the Biblical sojourn in Egypt so strong that it cannot longer be dismissed. It will be refined and expanded but it will not go away. It will become indispensable knowledge for all who are seriously interested in understanding the Bible and designating it’s message.

The World’s Oldest Alphabet is Hebrew

An IGH lecture recorded by Dr. Doug Petrovich

GHCA will present the last of six lectures recorded by archaeologist Dr. Doug Petrovich in June of 2017. These lectures and associated paper will almost certainly drive a paradigm shift in archaeology and ancient Biblical history.

In his first two lectures Dr. Petrovich has shown that the slow peaceful character of people movements of the middle Ubaid culture were consistent with a single language. In contrast the sudden an often strifeful people expansion of the late Uruk period (~3400 BC) is consistent with a sudden proliferation of languages and loss of communications. Also, the sudden halt of construction on the temple at Eridu, the largest of the time and which remained stagnant for approximately 1000 years, is consistent with a Babel like event.

In lectures 3-5 Dr. Petrovich Identifies the Egyptian names and historical roles of Joseph, Jacob, Manasseh, Ephraim and Shechem in Egyptian inscriptions. These names given by the Egyptians describe the most significant characteristics and events in these individuals lives. These names, characteristics, and events are amazingly consistent with the Bible narratives.

In this 6^th lecture Dr, Petrovich makes a strong case that the earliest alphabetic language is not only Semitic but specifically Hebrew. Also, that Ephraim and Manasseh were the originators on this alphabet and written Hebrew. This lecture presents a substantial portion of the material in his 2017 book, The World’s Oldest Alphabet, published by Carta in Jerusalem.

A future presentation will examine Dr. Petrovich’s compelling identification of the pharaoh of the Exodus. All of this work set out a beautiful set of parallels between biblical narrative and Egyptian history and archaeology.

Manasseh and Ephraim in Egyptian Archaeology

Many scholars fail to find archaeological evidence of Joseph, Jacob, Manasseh, Ephraim, or the Exodus because they make some wrong assumptions and then look for the wrong things at the wrong places and times. Thus it is a common conclusion that the associated Biblical history is as much mythology as anything else. In this lecture PhD Archaeologist Dr. Doug Petrovich will show that there is indeed much archaeological evidence that Manasseh and Ephraim actually played the roles in Egyptian history that are portrayed in the Bible. Last time Dr. Petrovich demonstrated strong evidence that Joseph and Jacob played the roles in Egyptian history that are portrayed in the Bible.  Later, that is also extended to the Exodus and beyond. This is extremely important and exciting material. It will ‘blow your socks off’ so to speak! More important, every Christian leader needs to become familiar with the work of Dr. Petrovich and others.
