Dr. Petrovich Responds to Published Challenges

This month we will look at Dr. Petrovich’s responses to fellow archaeologist and their published critical reviews of the Petrovich thesis that the earliest alphabet writing was in fact Hebrew that was developed in Egypt by the two oldest sons of Joseph. All agree that the world’s oldest alphabetic language appeared in Egypt at the time Joseph would be expected as the top vizier. But this language had never been deciphered although it was generally agreed to be in the Semitic group of languages which have much in common. Dr. Petrovich claims to have deciphered it and that it is specifically Hebrew. Yes, the origin of the Hebrew that Moses would write with about 400 year later.

Some authorities have objected as one would expect. Many have long careers committed to other concepts of history. For example one school of thought teaches that everything in the early books of the Bible were composed after the Babylonian exile. Another faction supposes that God really dose not do anything miraculous so all of that kind of narrative is highly corrupted memories at best. Others don’t think that God or anything beyond the laws of physical science can actually exists so everything about gods is simply a product of the imagination.

But Dr. Petrovich seems to be able to make strong and systematic rebuttals to all. These replies not only defend his thesis they also bring our attention to additional  information that bolster how well it all fits into the overall scheme in a highly systematic way. The professional level critiques make us think about and learn more than we understood before. Join us for the adventure!

Dr. Petrovich Responds to Challenges

Archaeologist Dr. Petrovich has made a strong systematic case that Joseph, Jacob, Manasseh, and Ephraim are clearly present in the inscriptions of Egyptian archaeology. These inscriptions fit into the events portrayed in the Bible and add new detail and clarity that is quite impressive. Most important is the fact that Ephraim and Manasseh, largely raised in by an Egyptian mother in the top vizier’s household, no doubt learned to read and write as well as talk in Egyptian but could only talk their forefather’s language, Hebrew, since there was no written Hebrew at that time. They saw the great utility and power of a written language although hieroglyphics was rather clumsy with more than 800 symbols for different words. So, Manasseh and Ephraim developed a written form of Hebrew using an alphabet making it far more efficient than Hieroglyphics. All of that happened  in the 12^th Dynasty of Egypt.

Archaeologist have known for 150 years this language exists but it remained undecipherable. Now Dr. Petrovich has shown how to read it and it yields a wealth of new systematically consistent evidence.

Joseph died in 1805 BC, near the end of the 12^th Dynasty. In the next tree Dynasties Egypt fell into the chaos generated by major migrations from the East and later Hyksos invasions. A new era of Egyptian control was established in 1575 by a new dynasty of Pharaohs.  One Hebrew inscription says the new Pharaoh did not know Joseph and another says the Pharaoh sought to cut away to barrenness the Hebrew’s great number.

Dr. Petrovich’s paper, “Amenhotep II and the Historicity of the Exodus-Pharaoh” has well established the reality of the Exodus event at 1446 BC.

In all of this many scholars with various different viewpoints have produced challenging questions for Petrovich. A good sample of these were recently included from The Moses Controversy Film from the Patterns of Evidence series. In that series Tim Mahoney interviews many well know scholars to ask them for their understanding on a variety of issues related to Moses and the Exodus. Dr. Petrovich has responded to 23 of these issues that seem to challenge Dr. Petrovich’s work in a 2019 paper titled “Interacting with the Patterns of Evidence: The Moses Controversy Film” .
